I decided to join the Winter 2019 Fat Loss Cooking School with a friend who was looking for some accountability in her journey. Little did I know, this was EXACTLY what I needed and just didn’t realize it.

I teach several group fitness classes throughout the week, but my nutrition was always on the back burner. I felt like I ate decent enough, but I also wouldn’t hesitate to consume a pan of brownies or tub of buttercream frosting in a really stressful situation. I felt sluggish and would often “crash” towards the middle or back half of my classes. Something just wasn’t right. I could never pinpoint why I always felt “off.”

My friend Lindsay recommended Fat Loss Foodies to me. She convinced me to do Fat Loss Cooking School because I was like, “I can’t do this (calorie counting) forever. I’m going crazy.”

I learned how to get in tune with what my body was telling me. I got the tools I needed to figure out what I needed more or less of: water? protein? fiber? I changed one variable at a time until I identified whatever was throwing me off and corrected my course. I’d never paid attention to my body like that before - it was actually very meditative! When I was just counting calories, I would squash what my body was trying to tell me.

This program is about REAL and SUSTAINABLE change. I got so much more than physical results: a wider skill set to keep my HEC in check (Hunger, Energy, and Cravings), cooking techniques rather than recipes, a love of leftovers, and a better relationship with food overall.

“After a few months of adopting an FLF lifestyle, I no longer obsess about the scale and that arbitrary blinking number. I can’t even tell you the last time I stepped on one, but I can tell you, for damn sure, I dropped two sizes, and my clothes fit better than ever.

FLCS has been one of the best investments I have made - an investment in my body, mind and soul. The Fat Loss Foodie approach that Leslie Ann and her coaches teach, live, share, and love can be best summarized for me like this: Nothing is off limits as long as it works for YOU and your burner type. Too many nutrition coaches act like certain foods (sugar, etc.) are poison. I find scare tactics unnecessary when it comes to my nutrition! As always, your personal goals and what you’re training for need to be taken into consideration, but fear-mongering isn’t necessary!
I can now maneuver my way fearlessly through every event, dinner, menu, etc. I come prepared (protein first!) and enjoy the heck out of every bite. I’m a lot leaner, my pants fit better and I’ve have been called ‘fit, skinny and lean’! Cooking is now a joy - not a task!

I am a 39-year-old group fitness instructor and fitness program manager at a small martial arts-based facility in Maine. I am extremely active, teaching many fitness classes each week, and I have always eaten in a pretty healthy manner.

For the past 10 years, I have weighed roughly the same weight and maintained about the same body shape with very little change. I had lost the “want” to put effort into my “old school lean down” eating habits that I knew would get results. They were just too strict for my current lifestyle.

I joined Fat Loss Cooking School in September 2013 and quickly fell in love with a renewed version of eating clean for fat loss, and more importantly, a sense of balanced health. I started to cook with fresh foods from the farmer’s market and tried all kinds of new and different recipes provided by Leslie Ann.
