I started Fat Loss Foodies in 2012 because she noticed a huge problem in the fitness and nutrition industry: everyone was all "check out my stack of Tupperware containers filled with chicken and broccoli" and "that's not Paleo enough" and "Join my 21-/30-/60-/90-day challenge and order these shakes - it's not a pyramid scheme. Promise!"

Having no stomach for fads, gimmicks, gluten, or bullshit, I carved out a corner of the internet for women who love fitness and cooking with a generous pour of common sense and a splash of science. (That sounds like one helluva delicious cocktail...) 

In 2013, I created Fat Loss Cooking School - a 4 week online program to teach women how to cook and eat real food for fat loss. It went gangbusters - and the rest is history.

Where I’m From: Everywhere. I was born in Ohio, grew up in South Carolina, and spent 12 years in Washington, D.C. working in politics & public policy. In 2012 I left D.C. and moved with my husband to North Carolina, which is currently our home base.

My Biggest Life Lesson So Far: if the Food Network keeps not calling you to offer you a new cooking show, you buy a tripod and a Macbook Pro and you freaking do it yourself. 

My Favorite Things: My cat, Jean Gray, and my dog, Silva. Coffee. Condiments. My hot Cuban husband. Macarons (it's spelled with one "o", people. One.)
