Letting Go of Comparison and Finding Her Power: Chantel's Story

I’m so excited to share this success story with you!

Chantel completed Spring 2018 Fat Loss Cooking School, and I’ve continued watching her transformation on social media. She is a military wife, mom, and group fitness instructor, and in the last 4-5 months since working with FLF, she has lost 15 pounds, built lean muscle, and completely transformed her mindset around food and body image.

I recently caught up with Chantel and asked if we could share her story here on the FLF blog. Day in and day out, this girl is absolutely killing it - like someone lit a fire inside her. I know she’ll inspire you like she does me!

“I’m 15 pounds lighter - and happier! For the first time, I am free from needing to be in control and micromanaging my life around food.

I’ve tried everything from Keto to Vegan, and they never lasted because I was angry and felt deprived.

Now I’m finally learning how to eat for me and how to find balance in my life. I’m letting go of unrealistic expectations of “beauty” and “fitness” and finding who I am and what I love in the process.

My journey has no finish point and I’m okay with that for the first time ever. I no longer define myself by my “diet” or my size, and that is Freedom. I love sharing it with others!

I may make mistakes or have a bad day where I go back to my negative thinking, or lack discipline, motivation, etc. But the difference now is I have support and I have love for myself, enough to know I’m worth picking myself up and moving forward.”

Then she kept going, and she isn’t stopping any time soon!

One of my favorite things about Chantel is how she uses what she learned to inspire and educate others. She’s active in her local community and wants others to find the same success and freedom that she has.

“If I can do it, my hope is that they will see that they can too!”

We talked about how so many of us are stuck living the story we grew up with. Believing that because we were raised to eat a certain way, or because no one else in our family is healthy and fit, we are sentenced to the same fate. This is a lie! You are the author of your story and you can twist the plot and change the story ANY time you darn well please. Who cares what others are doing, thinking, and saying?

Chantel broke the cycle and created a new way of living for herself and her family, and it all started with the decision to try.

“One step is all you need to start,” she says.
