Molten Dark Chocolate Mug Cake
I'd no more than walked in the door tonight than I got an important, high-priority message from Fat Loss Foodie Coach Jenn:

My kind of breaking news.
Jenn created an awesome new mug cake recipe using Metabolic Effect's Craving Cocoa, a supplement we love and recommend here at Fat Loss Foodies. Jenn is quite the recipe creator and I really think she's outdone herself with this one. As soon as she sent me the recipe, I tested it.
My first thought was,
"FINALLY. A mug cake that tastes like cake."
I've tried a lot of mug cake recipes and - well, there's a reason we don't yet have a mug cake recipe on this website. Most of them just aren't very good. (Do you have one we should try? Please let us know! We love fat loss friendly cake!)
Mug cakes have been an internet craze for quite some time. If you don't want to make your own mini-cake in a coffee mug, you can now buy pre-made mixes online and in some supplement shops. Last week, I dropped $3.99 on a one-serving "Mighty Muffin" by FlapJacked at Vitamin Shoppe.
This recipe is so good, probably because it includes 3-4 forms of chocolate - and you're welcome for that! :) It will be on regular evening rotation here at Fat Loss Foodie HQ because it tastes like real cake. I added a tablespoon of bittersweet chocolate chips for more chocolatey goodness, but it's not necessary if you're more sensitive to carbs and want to keep it lighter.
The key to this recipe is a specialty ingredient from our friends at Metabolic Effect: Craving Cocoa. Cocoa is a key weapon in the Fat Loss Foodies' arsenal, and this cocoa is specially formulated to kill cravings where they start: in the brain.

MOLTEN DARK CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
Recipe by Jenn Lucas
2 Tbs. Bob's Red Mill Oat Flour
1 scoop chocolate or vanilla protein powder*
1 scoop Metabolic Effect Craving Cocoa
1 Tbs. unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. + 2 Tbs. unsweetened almond, coconut, or rice milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
pinch of sea salt
Optional: 1 Tbs. bittersweet chocolate chips, 1 Tbs. protein nut butter
1. Combine all ingredients except nut butter in a large coffee mug and stir well.
2. Microwave for 60 seconds. Add nut butter to the center (it should still be wet like a molten chocolate lava cake)
NUTRITION INFO (base recipe without bittersweet chocolate chips or nut butter):
185 calories, 4 g fat, 22 g carbs (6 g fiber), 16 g protein.
