Happy Weekend, FLF girls! Jenn here, sharing another Weekly Workouts + What We're Eating post! This week I was feeling a little under the weather so I listened to my body, rested, adjusted, and haven't stressed about a thing! It's been an awesome week.
November 7-November 13
I was out on a weekend training for Les Mills® and ended up working out hard both days, and I could feel some seasonal allergies/a light cold coming on. So today was my R & R. If your body is stressed and tired or sick-- let it heal. Don't add more stress by working out and "pushing through." You'll feel better faster and you'll bounce back in no time. Taking an extra day off isn't the end of the world, I promise.
9:30 a.m. Taught BODYPUMP®
10:45 a.m. Taught BODYFLOW® - Because of my rest day and taking on this week with mindful balance, I taught class from that headspace. It was really a breath of fresh air and JUST what I needed.
6:30 p.m. Taught RPM® Because I'd been off the bike for a few days, it felt really good to go HARD and sweat out the funk in my system.
9:30 CrossFit Workout: Dynamic Effort Lower Body
Back Squat 10 x 2 (145 lbs., focus on speed)
Stiff Leg Deadlift 4 x 12 (125 lbs.)
Bulgarian Split Squats 4 x 10 (10 lb. Dumbbells)
Standing Good Morning's 4 X 10 (85 lbs.)
Box Jumps, Max Height (30") 4 x 8
3x Weighted Planks
125x Banded Hamstring Curls
There was an optional METCON (Metabolic Conditioning) on this one that I always skip on Thursdays because I teach RPM® in the evening and just don't need the cardio training!

9:30 a.m. Taught RPM®
9:30 a.m. Taught BODYPUMP®
10:45 a.m. Took Les Mills® Grit Cardio (This was a spur of the moment decision-- I was feeling great and wanted to support my teammate who taught after me.)

Here are some highlights from the week!
I've been crushing some Salsa this week! Chipotle Pumpkin Salsa from World Market, and Roasted Chipotle Salsa from Wegman's are my FAVES right now. You don't have to eat dry boring veggies and meat-- play with some different flavors and sauces and see what you like! FLF girls keep a fridge full of YUMMY options. Chipotle is an all time go-to for me, and of course Pumpkin. Because, pumpkin.
Meatloaf! I absolutely love it because you can use any meat you like, and create any flavor profile. It's really a blank canvas. I winged it on this one, but you can check out Leslie Ann's Chipotle Meatloaf for a killer recipe. Meatloaf is a great dish to make a lot of and keep on hand as part of your weekly meal prep. I also love to travel with it because it's hearty, holds up, and you can eat it cold in a pinch.
ALL WEEK LONG
Tea! There is nothing more soothing than hot tea when you're under the weather. I've been sipping it at night and every afternoon as I'm at home working. I always drink decaf because I'm sensitive to caffeine in the late afternoon/evening. Yogi brand teas are my favorite, and regular old black decaf! The folks over at Metabolic Effect recommend drinking Green Tea as a means to block fat storage in the lower body. Bonus!
